La Cumbrecita (Roughing it in South America)

Our two days in La Cumbrecita that were totally not planned ended up being some of our favorites so far. After so many weeks of staying in hostels and sharing bathrooms, kitchens, etc, it was refreshing to have our own space. We stayed two nights at a couples-only suite about  two hours away from Cordoba and absolutely loved it. We had an incredible room with and great view and it was well-worth the splurge.
The town of La Cumbrecita is tiny. Its a German-themed pedestrian only tourist town.  There´s not a whole lot to do which was perfect for us. We walked around town a little and took a short hike to a waterfall, but other than that our agenda was completely open and we did as little as possible. We slept in, watched movies, and just enjoyed being in such a nice place. It was fun to get a little dressed up for dinner and give our ¨traveling clothes¨ a rest.  We had really good food both nights at dinner and huge breakfasts each morning.
After our time in La Cumbrecita we felt like new people.  With just a few days of rest and time to clear our minds, we felt much more motivated to press on and see more of South America. (It may have helped that one of the movies we watched was The Bucket List!)
