We have tickets!

Its official... we bought the tickets. No backing out now. We will be flying on US Air out of Charlotte on the evening of Feb. 21st and arriving in Rio de Janeiro the morning of the 22nd. Then on May 30th we will leave from Rio and arrive in Charlotte the morning of the 31st. So now the rest of our planning will hopefully go a little easier now that we have some concrete dates to work around. We are about half way done with a day by day itinerary that will probably change a lot once we're down there, but will at least give us some guidance. Hopefully this week we can finish that. I will post it when its done. :)

Paraguay here we come!

Our Paraguay visas came in the mail today!! We mailed them along with our applications a couple of weeks ago to the consulate in Miami. And today they came back! They are the first thing to be put in our shiny new passports. So exciting! The only other visa we have to apply for ahead of time is for Brazil and that takes a trip to Atlanta to apply in person. We will probably do that the first week in February when Seth has a few days off from the bank. This week we also met with an insurance agent and went over options for travel health insurance. Not so exciting.
We think we have narrowed down some dates... we are looking at Feb. 20, 21, or 22nd to leave and we will probably be returning May 30th (both in and out of Rio).
Well, that's all for now. I can't believe how close its getting!

Welcome to Seth and Rebecca's South America blog! We are going to attempt to keep a regular account of where we are and what we are up to. I must warn you- I (Rebecca) have never been good at blogging/journaling but I'm going to give it my best shot. Hopefully between the two of us we will be able to keep up and have something posted at least every few days. I'm starting early in hopes of making it a habit before we leave.
